This FAQ was developed to help parents and guardians quickly access important information about the Hill Country Arts Foundation’s Summer Art Camp program, including registration, schedules, supplies, and participation expectations.


Get ready for a week of creativity, hands-on projects, and messy fun!

Summer Art Camp at the Hill Country Arts Foundation gives young artists the chance to paint, sculpt, draw, and create in a fun, hands-on environment filled with imagination and exploration. Campers will experiment with different materials, try new techniques, make creative projects, and build confidence while having fun alongside other young artists. Whether they’re beginners or experienced creators, there’s something for every skill level and interest.

Who can attend Summer Art Camp?

Summer Art Camp is open to ages 5–18.

We also offer a special teen clay camp designed specifically for ages 13–18 who want to spend more time working with ceramics and sculpture.

When is camp?

Camp sessions run weekly, Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to noon during the month of July.

Each week gives campers the chance to complete new projects, experiment with materials, and build creative confidence.

What kinds of art will campers make?

Campers may explore:

  • Painting
  • Drawing
  • Sculpture
  • Clay
  • Mixed media
  • Printmaking
  • Crafts
  • Collaborative art projects

Every session is a little different, so campers can enjoy a variety of creative experiences throughout the summer.

Does my child need art experience?

Not at all.

Summer Art Camp welcomes beginners and experienced young artists alike. Camp activities are designed to encourage creativity, exploration, and fun at every skill level.

Are supplies included?

Yes. All art materials are provided for every camp session.

Just bring your creativity — we’ll handle the rest.

What should campers bring?

Campers should bring:

  • A water bottle
  • A snack, if needed
  • Comfortable clothes suitable for art activities

Art camp is all about creating and experimenting, so dress for mess!

Will families get to see the artwork?

Absolutely!

Each Friday, campers’ artwork will be displayed during a special exhibit in the main gallery from noon to 12:30 p.m.

Family and friends are encouraged to attend and celebrate the campers’ creativity and hard work throughout the week.

After the exhibit, campers may take their artwork home.

What if my camper misses a day?

Because camp sessions are planned as full weekly experiences, there are no refunds or make-up days for missed sessions.

If your camper will be absent, please notify HCAF staff.
